WELCOME TO THE DUNGEON
The Dungeon is a place for lifters in all shapes and sizes, ages and genders. We have 70 year old women strength training to improve their quality of life, we have young athletes getting their first time experience in the gym in a safe and inclusive environment, and we have 30 year old powerlifters that have given their lives and souls to the sport.
We train hard, we train smart, and we have a blast doing it with the big picture in mind. We could have the gym full with a 700 pound squatter, a high school kid who has never lifted a weight in their life, and a senior citizen hoping to prevent falls in the future all in one place having a laugh and pushing each other. That is what the Dungeon is about. Our business is the pursuit of strength for physical and mental development. Anybody willing to leave their ego at the door and work their butt off is welcome in this gym 7 days a week.

MEET YOUR COACH

LUKA DJURKOVIC
Dungeon Strong is owned and operated by Luka Djurkovic, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the North American Strength & Conditioning Association. On top of having his CSCS, he has been competing in powerlifting for 10 years and has held Junior National Records in the CPL (Canadian Powerlifting League). Before his career in powerlifting he was introduced to weightlifting through high school rugby, then going on to play men's club rugby and winning 3 Provincial Championships with the UBCOB Ravens Rugby Club. Through ten years of rugby and powerlifting, Luka has had to problem solve everything and anything in the pursuit of strength. Injuries have come and gone, derailed training and forced him to learn his craft in extreme depth. Overcoming a torn quad (muscle and partial tendon tear) and various back, hip and shoulder issues due to the high impact of rugby and heavy weights, his training perspective is rather unique.

It is rare to find a strength coach who prioritizes longevity with the implementation of proper technique/biomechanics, mobility and stability work on top of intelligent programming and intensity. He is here to ensure that his clients live to lift another day. Gaining strength and longevity is conditional on maintaining health, and this perspective has helped him and many others that have been written off by doctors, physios, and even themselves due to injuries and plateaus.
